Good morning,my dear teacher and classmates.It’s my honur to speak here, I am very glad to share my topic with you.Then today I would like to talk something peace. Do you know what day is September 21st. OK .Most of us don’t know.Let me tell you. On September 21st,as we abserve International day of peace,we are reminded that nearly 60 million people globally have been displaced from their homes by war of these,19.5 million people are living as refugees. The office of the UNHCR, estimates that,due to conflict and persecution,every day of last year over 42500 people were forced to their country;others felt safer across an international border; And increasingly,refugees are taking to boats,trains,even to their feet to walk great distances,hoping to finding a safe haven abroad. They take their chances,braving the dangers of a trek into the unknown. They have one thing in common:they are all running from something, A boy is included. But he is very unfortunate. Now,look at this picture. This is a picture that makes the world silent. He is called Aylan. He was a Syrian refugees,just three years old. His body ,face down, was found on the beach of Bodrum, a resort city in turkey on Wednesday. And he was one of at least 12 syrians fleeing the wartorncountry who drownedtrying to reach the Greek island kos. Among the victims are believed to his 5-year-old brother and their mother. The only one from the family to surive was Aylan’s father,who was found semi-conscious and hospitalized. It’s a bad story .The painters painted many pictures for him.

Sometimes,he plays on the beach.

Sometimes,he might just be tired,felt asleep on the beach.

Nevertheless,we hope that the child is the same as the other children.

The child of this age should lie in the arms of their parents. But he was rushed to the beach.

All the animals in the sea are crying.

War is cruel,but the child is innocent. We hope that the war will cease. The world will not live at war. We should cherish the present life. Cherish peace. Thank you for listening.

Choice and Process

Good morning , ladies and gentlemen:

My topic is about choice and process today. A research shows that a man has to make 73 choices one day.With so many choices one day,

people easily get so confused and afraid of ma-ki-ng wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. In my opinion, the following part is of much more importance than the choice. There is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life, which the process makes the difference.

Life is a box of chocolate .You never know what you will get.

Forrest Gump made no decision by and for himself ,but he accomplished great success with his strong will in the process. The process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings ,the caution, courage and persistance we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles. Take myself as an example, I changed my major when I

became a postgraduate. After the choice, days have been harsh for me . I cannot understand the new lessons at all. For they are closely related to mathmatics which I learned nothing about before. However the belief that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself, I persisted. I asked for help from every channel and reorganized my life.Gradually I could understand some parts and even found that

maths interesting, I learned to act instead of complaining. In retrospect, the choice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the past four months becomes an unforgetable experience in my life.

No matter what the choice is, enjoy the process. In the process, your potential will be inspired and new discoveries ,improvement and progress will come to you. These are the most beautiful sceneries and only on the way can you see it. These make your life colorful.

There is no need and I don’t want to judge whether it right or wrong for me to be here. But I congratulate to myself for I gain and enjoy this fantastic experience. So my dear friends ,never worry about your choice and enjoy the process .I am sure you will get something new and interesting after you chose to come here. Thank you!

Good noon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is ZhangYing major in land resource management. I will talk something about challenges and

opportunities in our postgraduate life.

All of the postgraduate today have made a choice to have a further study in CUMT. Our postgraduate life of course will provide us with opportunities to bring out our creativity and talent and there is no denying that we lost our chance to work or enter the society. However, challenges still exist.

At the end of every semester, students in our university should ask ourselves one question as a summary that is As a postgraduate student, what are your major challenges? And I think the answer should include two aspects: studying and professional. We should pay much attention to these two challenges as long as we live in such a competitive world.

A series of challenges in our studies start from almost the beginning of our first year. We may wonder whether we’ve made the right choice of going on learning. We may wonder if the extra activities add credits to our studies. Later on we may be competing with our hardworking, intelligent peers, including our best friends to get more quality credits to gain high scholarship. All of these sounds so familiar and our graduate life have somehow become full of purposes so that we sometimes fail to fully enjoy our educational experience.

Apart from challenges in learning, there are also professional challenges. The competitive world today requires the effective use of knowledge for economic and social development, so our school has made such a rule that graduate should have two published pa-pe-r when we finish our school or we cannot get our degree. So we have the press in writing pa-pe-rs. Also our professors will give our missions to write pa-pe-r or do some projects, too. No matter whether we really want it or we are fit to do so.

Indeed, facing these two challenges, how can we manage to be a excellent graduate student and at the same time to enjoy a valuable and rewarding experience?

For me, the solution to the problem lies in do what we should do. As a student we should study hard and in order to relieve our family’s economic burden we should pursue a high scholarship so it needs us to be more active in many cases.

Transforming our challenges into opportunities maybe a effective way to overcome the second challenges. The pressure may also act as motive power. We can only accept what we cannot change and try our best to make it not so boring and cannot help anymore. In fact, the lack of time is just an excuse, enough time should be found by ourselves. So do not complain any more and to be a person of action. Try to enrich our graduate life, not just full of have to do but more valuable.
